The Classroom Cash program is a way for enrolled customers to make a difference for their favorite private school or public school district in our community each time they make a purchase with their Hills Bank debit card. At various times during the year, Hills Bank® makes a donation to the cardholder’s designated school.

Hills Bank offers the Classroom Cash program to empower customers to make a difference for their favorite private or public school in our community.

Do I have to be a Hills Bank customer?

Yes. If you are not a Hills Bank customer, we hope you’ll become one! To open a checking account and get a Hills Bank debit cardapply online for a checking account with a debit card, or visit any Hills Bank location.

How much will it cost to participate in Classroom Cash. Is it really free?

Yes, it is really free! There is no cost to you or your designated school to enroll in the program. Hills Bank makes the donation to the school of your choice in our community.

How do I enroll in Classroom Cash?

To enroll, you must open a Hills Bank checking account with a Hills Bank debit card (if you don’t already have one) and enroll in the Classroom Cash program by designating a private school or public school district of your choice in our community. For existing customers, enrollment is easy! Customers can call 319-679-5500 (Iowa City), 319-654-8100 (Cedar Rapids), 1-800-445-5725 (toll free), apply online, or stop by any Hills Bank location to sign up.

Do I have to enroll at a Hills Bank location?

No, existing customers may enroll by calling 319-679-5500 (Iowa City), 319-654-8100 (Cedar Rapids), 1-800-445-5725 (toll free), or by applying online. New customers may enroll at the time they open their checking account.

Can I sign up both my Hills Bank debit card and my Hills Bank Business Debit Card?

Yes, any Hills Bank debit card or Hills Bank business debit card may be signed up for Classroom Cash.

Are there any requirements for enrollment?

Customers pay nothing to enroll in the program and there are no limits to the number of transactions. However, to enroll for their favorite local school in our community, customers must open a Hills Bank checking account with a debit card (if they don’t already have one) and enroll in the program by designating a private school or public school district in our community.

Where can I use my Hills Bank debit card?

Use it wherever Visa® debit cards are accepted – use it for groceries, movies, travel and everyday purchases. Customers enrolled in Classroom Cash may earn money for their favorite local school with every debit card purchase. ATM transactions are not included in the Classroom Cash program.

My kids go to different schools. Can I register more than one school?

No, only one school may be designated for each debit cardholder. If you and your spouse each have a Hills Bank debit card attached to one checking account, you may each designate a private school or public school district in our community to receive donations. The donations are based upon each card’s usage.

How do I talk about this program with family and friends?

If I move, how do I change my school?

A customer may change their designated school by calling 319-679-5500 (Iowa City), 319-654-8100 (Cedar Rapids), 1-800-445-5725 (toll free), or by visiting hillsbank.com to fill out an application, or stopping by any Hills Bank location.

If I change my school in the middle of the year, which school will benefit from my points?

The private school or public school district in our community on your record at the time we calculate the rewards will receive the donation.

What schools can be designated?

Any private school or public school district located in our community is eligible to receive Classroom Cash donations.

Can I see which customers are participating in Classroom Cash for my designated school?

No, due to our privacy policy, customers cannot view other customers' information; however the hillsbank.com shows an entire school listing with total number of cards and total dollars earned.

What does the donation go toward at the schools?

Hills Bank imposes no spending requirements or guidelines; we trust that the money will be used to contribute to the betterment of the school.

Does the donation go into the school's savings account or does the school get all the money at once. When will schools receive the donation?

At various times during the year the transactions are totaled for each school and donated directly to the designated school.

How much money will my school receive when I use my Hills Bank debit card?

Money will accumulate each time a Hills Bank debit card is used. The overall donation each school receives depends on how many customers choose that school. Each time a Hills Bank debit card is used, the designated school district will earn 1 to 3¢ (subject to change) per transaction.

Does the dollar amount of my purchase affect the amount given to my school?

If your purchase requires a signed sales receipt, the amount of the purchase will affect the amount given to the designated school.

Can I see how much has been donated to my school?

You may view the Classroom Cash totals for each school. These totals are updated each month.

Will I receive a summary of my rewards on my bank statement?

No, at this time, the Classroom Cash information will not be available on your bank statement(s).
