Hills Bank was founded on the belief that banks should care about the people they serve and provide ways to help them prosper. We support local businesses of all shapes and sizes. This summer from June 3rd to July 31st, Hills Bank will be helping kids 5-12 years old, start their own business by becoming a Lemon Boss! This is a great opportunity to teach kids about finances, customer service, and business all while spending quality time together.
To get the Lemon Boss business going right away, all kids will need to do is fill out an application that must be signed by the child and their parent or legal guardian. A copy of the applications can be downloaded here ages 5-7, 8-12. All applications must be brought in to Hills Bank to be instantly approved and receive a Lemon Boss kit.
What's in the Lemon Boss Kit?
- Hills Bank cups, money bag, and pitcher
- “I’m a Lemon Boss” button
- Wooden spoon
- Hand sanitizer
- Income Statement Sheet
- Lemonade Mix
- Start-up money for the business
What happens after July 31st?
Bring in the Income Statement (included in kit) to any Hills Bank location from August 1st – 16th and receive a Certificate of Completion and your photo on the Lemon Boss Hall of Fame to be displayed at Hills Bank during the month of September.
Tips For Lemon Bosses
Make sure the lemonade tastes good and it's cold. Maybe add a lemon wedge or drink umbrella to make the lemonade the best on the block!
Location, Location, Location
To get the most potential customers be sure to place the lemonade stand in the best location.
Establish Ground Rules
How long will the stand stay in business? Make sure there is always adult supervision.
Build a Customer Base
Don't be afraid to ask for referrals. Referrals are the easiest way to build a customer base. If a referral is given, say thank you!
