  • Login to Hills Bank Online Business Connections
  • Click the "Management" tab
  • Click "ATM/Debit Card"
  • Select the function you would like applied to your card number

 

Hills Bank Online Business Connections Secure Message Center

Send secure messages with attachments to Hills Bank through the Secure Message Center. Simply click the "Contact" tab in the upper right corner within Hills Bank Online Business Connections, then click "New" and submit your message knowing it's secure.

How do I sign up for Hills Bank Online or Hills Bank Online Business Connections?

Hills Bank Online: Any customer who is a primary or joint personal account owner can enroll for Hills Bank Online. Simply click to enroll, answer a few questions, and click the link sent to your email address. From there, you are able to set up your new password and start using Hills Bank Online.

If your enrollment attempt fails, it's possible the information you input doesn't exactly match our information. For your security, if our records do not match yours, the enrollment attempt will fail. Here are a few formatting tips: 

  • Input your Social Security Number with or without dashes. If you do not have a Social Security Number, you will need to call the Contact Center at 1-800-445-5725 or visit a Personal Banker at any Hills Bank location.
  • When inputting your address, use typical abbreviations and leave out punctuation. (Example: 131 Main Street should be "131 Main St")
  • When inputting your birthday, use a 2-digit month and day, and a 4 digit year. (Example: January 8, 1904 should be "01/08/1904")

Hills Bank Online Business Connections Customers: If you are a business account owner or a signer on an account, simply complete an online application and return it by fax (319-679-2117), mail (Hills Bank and Trust Company, Attn: eServices, PO Box 70, Hills, IA 52235), or to any Hills Bank location.


Do I need any special software to use Hills Bank Online or Hills Bank Online Business Connections?

 

No, all you need is a computer with Internet access, a modem, and a proper browser. Your accounts can be accessed from virtually anywhere.

How do I get my online banking ID and password?

Hills Bank Online: You will receive a verification email that includes a link to complete the enrollment process. The link is only valid for one hour after it is sent. You should click the link from the same computer/device in which you began the enrollment process. Once you click the verification link, Hills Bank Online will provide you with an online banking ID and prompt you to change your password. You’ll input your current password, and select a new password that is a combination of letters and numbers and between 8 and 25 characters long. The following special characters are allowed: + _ % @  ! $ * ~ . Once your password is changed, you are enrolled in Hills Bank Online. From there, you can personalize your Hills Bank Online ID by entering your new ID under "Modify Login Information" within the Management tab.

Please note: If you do not have a Social Security Number, you will need to call the Contact Center at 1-800-445-5725 or visit a Personal Banker at any Hills Bank location to enroll in Hills Bank Online. 

Hills Bank Online Business Connection Customers:  We will mail you a welcome letter within two business days of receiving your application. This letter will have your 12-digit Hills Bank Online ID (which you can change later if you choose), a Cash Management ID (if applicable), and basic instructions. You will receive a separate letter containing your password.

 


Does my spouse need his or her own online banking ID and password?

Customers are enrolled in Hills Bank Online based on their Social Security Number. Joint account holders are encouraged to have two Hills Bank Online IDs, one in each account holder's name. That way, there aren't any problems when either of you need assistance. Even if your spouse is listed as a joint owner on all your Hills Bank accounts, they can't make any changes to the online ID in your name. If your spouse contacts us for help with your ID or password, we cannot give any information to him/her. You will need to call us to unlock your account, reset your password, etc.

When I try to log in, it keeps returning to the same login page. What does that mean?

When you try to log in and don’t get an error message but are directed to a new login page, it usually means that your cookie files are not enabled. In order to log in to Hills Bank Online, your cookie files need to be enabled. View instructions on how to enable cookies.

Another problem may be that your browser does not support 128-bit encryption which Hills Bank Online requires. If your browser does not support this encryption, you will need to download a version of your browser that does support it. How do I enable cookies on my computer?

My account is locked. What do I do?

Your account locks after three invalid password attempts and remains locked until you reset your password.  This can be done with our password self-reset feature or by contacting us. Simply email us at hillsbank@hillsbank.com or call 1-800-445-5725 and we’ll reset your password for you. You will receive a notice via email letting you know the account has locked; if you call us before you get the email simply disregard the message.

How do I customize Hills Bank Online's start page?

Once you have logged in to Hills Bank Online, you will see a tab labeled "My Hills Bank" in the upper left corner. Click this tab to begin customizing Hills Bank Online. View the My Hills Bank user guide to learn more.


Business Customers: My Cash Management ID is held. What do I do?

When your Cash Management ID is held, it means that your Cash Management password has been entered incorrectly. If you see the message, "Your account is currently locked," it means that the Hills Bank Online password has been entered at least three times incorrectly. To get either the Hills Bank Online ID unlocked or your Cash Management ID reset, please contact us for assistance.
