As a sponsor, you have the ability to stay connected with your recipients’ spending by monitoring purchases, limiting spending, adding or removing funds, and setting daily ATM withdrawal limits. Use the FUNd Card to make purchases in places you can’t use cash, like via the internet or phone. The FUNd Card can even be set up with an automatic deposit schedule from your Hills Bank checking or savings account, and can be used anywhere Visa is accepted.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Hills Bank FUNd Card
"Gift Giver” means someone whom the sponsor has set up and permitted to fund a cardholder's card. Many gift-givers are grandparents, aunts and uncles.
“Sponsor” means someone who requests and funds the card for the cardholder. Many sponsors are parents/guardians of teens or college students, or children who are helping their elder parents manage their funds.
"Cardholder” means someone to whom the card is issued.
1. How can the Hills Bank FUNd Card be used?
Use the Hills Bank FUNd Card to make purchases anywhere Visa Debit cards are accepted. You can also withdraw cash from any ATM. Fees may apply.
2. What makes the Hills Bank FUNd Card different from other gift cards?
The Hills Bank FUNd Card is reloadable and can be monitored, meaning your sponsor can add or remove funds from your card. The FUNd Card can be used anywhere Visa is accepted, or at an ATM, unlike gift cards or certificates that may have limited use.
3. Can I add more money to the Hills Bank FUNd Card?
No, but your sponsor or gift-giver can add funds to the card.
4. Are the funds available immediately?
If the sponsor loads funds online there is a two-day available hold on those funds. If the funds are needed instantly, please call the Hills Bank Card Support Center Monday - Friday from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm at 319-679-5500. The maximum amount to load per day is $500. The maximum value on the FUNd Card is $5,000.
5. Is the Hills Bank FUNd Card a credit card?
No, the Hills Bank FUNd Card is a prepaid "stored" value card. Your sponsor determines the original value of the card by selecting any amount between $10 and $1,500. The sponsor can then add money to the card either on a scheduled basis or as needed.
6. How do I activate my Hills Bank FUNd Card?
To activate your card, call the Hills Bank Card Support Center at 1-877-651-6555. The card sponsor or cardholder can activate the FUNd Card by entering the last four digits of their Social Security Number. During the activation process you will be prompted to activate your new 4-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN).
7. Can I make a purchase for more than the amount on my Hills Bank FUNd Card?
Yes, by using the balance remaining on your card plus another form of payment (cash, credit card, check). Notify the merchant that you need to split your payment. Note: It's important to keep track of your FUNd Card balance to avoid having purchases declined for insufficient funds.
8. Can I use my Hills Bank FUNd Card at more than one merchant?
Yes, as long as there are sufficient funds remaining on the FUNd Card and they accept Visa.
9. Can I use the Hills Bank FUNd Card for online purchases?
Absolutely — as long as Visa debit cards are accepted. Most online companies confirm name and address of the cardholder before approving the purchase.
10. Can I use the Hills Bank FUNd Card at an ATM to withdraw money?
Yes. Although, there is daily limits that can be set by the sponsor. The Hills Bank FUNd Card cannot be used for transfers and fees may apply.
11. What happens when I spend all the funds on my Hills Bank FUNd Card?
Your Hills Bank FUNd Card will no longer be accepted as a form of payment unless the sponsor or gift-giver adds funds to the card.
12. What happens if I return merchandise purchased with my Hills Bank FUNd Card?
Some stores will give you store credit while others will credit back the card. Credits to the card will increase the balance remaining on your Hills Bank FUNd Card, but could take 5-7 days to post.
13. When should I destroy my card?
It is best not to destroy the card until the expiration date. Sponsors have the option to add funds until the card expires. Also, certain stores may require a credit back to the Hills Bank FUNd Card used to make the purchase if you return merchandise.
14. Why do I sometimes have problems using my Hills Bank FUNd Card at restaurants when I have enough money to cover the food bill?
Most restaurants will attempt to authorize the transaction for the total bill plus an estimated tip. The addition of the tip may be more than the balance remaining on the card and the transaction will be denied. Notify the server if the balance on your card is not sufficient to cover the tab plus the tip.
15. Am I able to obtain cash from my Hills Bank FUNd Card at a bank teller?
Yes, as a Cash Advance. A service charge will automatically be deducted from your Hills Bank FUNd Card balance. You may also visit an ATM machine to use your card. Fees may apply.
16. What should I do if my Hills Bank FUNd Card is lost or stolen?
Immediately call the Hills Bank Card Support Center at 1-877-651-6555. You can also report the card lost or stolen at https://www.familyprepaiddebit.com/familycard/hillsbank/login.
17. Does my Hills Bank FUNd Card expire?
The expiration date is embossed on the front of your card. If a balance remains on the card at the expiration date, another card will be issued and mailed to you. NOTE: A monthly maintenance fee will be assessed against the card balance beginning the 7th month of non-use.
18. How do I check the balance of my Hills Bank FUNd Card?
Be sure you have the username and password provided by the sponsor prior to checking your balance online. Balances can be checked 24/7 at https://www.familyprepaiddebit.com/familycard/hillsbank/login.
